Hi,
Here is what I find about cropping a page. Even if I crop a page in acrobat, eslick still displays the stuff outside the cropbox. But Foxit Reader only displays the cropbox content. Would you please change the software such that it takes only the stuff within the crop box as the content? My goal is to use the "Fit content width" to display the content I selected by the cropbox. Would you also please keep us posted on the status of the software? e.g., what functions you are modifying or developing. Thanks a lot. |

I mentioned about this somewhere in this forum. Adobe acrobat didn't remove the margin you cropped from the file, you can verify this by cropping the cropped file again -- you can still see all the page in crop dialog. Foxit reader knows about the crop box but eslick don't know about it.
A work around before eslick update is, export cropped pdf to ps, then convert ps back to pdf. But you will lost all the bookmarks. There is a acrobat plugin called ARTS PDF Bookmarker, which can generate bookmarks automatically by title font and size. You can use it to regenerate bookmarks. |

Thanks for the response.
I know "Foxit reader knows about the crop box but eslick don't know about it", and that is why I submit the request. My bookmarks are created manually by myself. They are not just chapter or section names in the pdf, and cannot be generated by ARTS PDF. Keep in mind, I have about one hundred pdf books, and they are mainly generated from scanned classnotes and technical books. ARTS PDF is really not that accurate for such kinds of pdfs. I have ARTS PDF but seldom use it. At the same time, I don't want to crop every pdf, export them to .ps file, convert to .pdf, and create all the bookmarks. What a hassel! I personally develop acrobat plug-ins, and don't think my requests are very difficult, especially for a software company whose expertise is in pdf processing. Again, thanks for your help, and I look forward to seeing update to the eslick software soon. |

Sorry happynut, I forgot that I had said same thing to you before in another thread -- I thought that's somebody else.
I also wish eslick can handle cropped pages better, just wanted provide some alternative methods before eslick update. |

Thank you, dracodoc and christina.
I guess I am an unusual user. I hope I didn't push too hard on things. |
