Default Glitches in the GUI

3.0.1506: Welcome screen should show Unicode text, not ANSI.

This glitch affects (at least) all Cyrillic-based translations (Bulgarian, Russian, Serbian etc.)

Tahoma is not the best font for the GUI as it lacks important characters.
Example:
<menuitem id="32778" text="&Previous Page\tLeft Arrow"/>
would be best translated as:
<menuitem id="32778" text="&Предишна страница\t←"/>
but "←" will be transformed into "<"

1. 3.0.1506: Welcome screen should show Unicode text, not ANSI.
This is probably caused by our program that is non-unicode based. We are working on this.

2. Tahoma is not the best font for the GUI as it lacks important characters.
Strange! we are trying to repro it, no problem. What's your Unicode language in the Regional and Language Options? Does it be same to the one you selected for GUI?

1. OK

2. All regional settings are set to Bulgarian including those for non-Unicode programs. The display language in Foxit Reader is Bulgarian as well (after all, I am currently translating the XML in Bulgarian).

On Windows XPP-SP3 Tahoma (v.3.15/20.09.2004) does not have glyphs mapped to Unicode positions 2190 (←), 2191 (↑), 2192 (→) and 2193 (↓), and so far this is the latest version of this font.
On the same platform Arial (v.3.06/15.11.2006) has those glyphs.

In this case, you can use Left Arrow to describe it.
