Unhappy text removes spaces after edit

Why oh why does Foxit PDF editor remove the spaces on a line in a pdf file after I edit one thing that appears to be a number? Like this

Power Cost Adjustment 2076 x etc etc and I want to change the 2076 to 963 and then everything squeezes together like this

powercostadjustment965yadayada

Very sad

Please help the natives (co workers) are restless
