Foxit PDF Editor(PED) will not cause your LAN any problem, it will only send out a message to our server to verify that you are registered user of PED.
There must be some conflict with your network configuration. What kind of firewall are you currently installed?

If Norton AV warns Editor as a "worm",
please add 'editor' to 'norton antivirus options - internet - program control', making editor legal to access to internet.
For other firewalls, you can make similar change to the settings.

They keep saying this will not happen. It does with mine. With time, the network comes back. I run Win firewall and Norton AV 2006.
