Lightbulb SDK PDF Editor capability

Hi all. I've been working with the demo version of the FoxIT Reader SDK (ActiveX) and am finding that creating annotations requires a tremendous amount of programming effort. Is there any plan in the works to include the functionality of PDF Editor in your SDK? This would sure be a timesaver!

Thanks.

David Keith

Post What automation is avail. for FoxIT Reader pro?

I've noticed that FoxIT Reader pro has annotation features. Would it be possible to buy the $99 pro version and incorporate it into my app?

Would it be possible to hide/show toolbars/elements of toolbars, control file system access via open/save dialogs etc.? If so this might be a good deal for us.

Thanks.

Hi David,
We are developing a new ActiveX 2.0 which will allow the hosting program to access annotations.
However, we don't have any plan to add Foxit Editor feature into the ActiveX.
Yes, in the new ActiveX 2.0, you will be able to show/hide individual toolbutton or the whole toolbar.
Please wait with patience for the availability of ActiveX 2.0

Default Annotations...

William -

Does this mean that the programmer will be able to render annotations onto the PDF using SDK function/procedure calls?

Also will this functionality be incorporated into the DLL SDK version? I need to know, as my management is waiting on my word to purchase a couple of copies.

Thanks.

Default ETA/Release date for SDK 2.0??

Do you yet have an ETA for the next version that includes Annotation capability? DLL/ActiveX? Is there any software assurance available that would reduce the cost of upgrading if we buy now. And again, will the DLL version include the ability to include annotations?

Thanks.

If you simply want to display annotation, then current version of DLL already support this.
However, we don't have immediate plan to let future version of DLL to access or manipulate annotations.
We cannot tell you exactly when the new ActiveX will be available.
In terms of sales issue, please contact sales@foxitsoftware.com

ActriveX Professional version can save Form Filler edit.

Standard Version and Professional Version
Foxit offers two different sub-versions of ActiveX 2.4. One is a standard version which doesn't include the following features: creating/editing annotation, form import/export, adding watermark, running javascript, convert PDF to text, etc. The other one is a professional version which includes these features. You can see the sub-versions comparison table for more details. You may choose the right version based on the requirement of your application.

The standard version may be immediately purchased online. For professional version, fill out an online survey form for Foxit SDK ActiveX Professional and submit it before the Foxit service staff can send you a quote soon.
