I am using a registered version of Foxit PDF Creator on a PC running Windows Vista Home Premium. I am extremely satisfied with the product as it is much faster, leaner than Adobe's and everything is good, except one problem...
I use a custom designed accounting programme for my business. This is run over an internal network from a server located in another room, I map the drive of the server as z: on my PC. The accounting programme uses FoxPro databases (if that is relevant) Now when I print a PDF, it seems that Foxit does not reset the file pointer to where it was before I printed. The programme then does not locate the database file/s it needs and it crashes with an error that it cannot find the files. This did not occur with other PDF creators I used before on the same programme. Could I possibly fix this, or maybe could someone fix this in a future release? One other suggestion if I may...A great addition to Foxit would be the ability to run a slideshow of PDF pages in a presentation similar to Keynote on the Mac. I think this could be a killer feature that makes Foxit really tops!! Keep up the good work!! Pierre |

REPLY RE: Other programme crashes after printing with Foxit
Hello. I have discovered the same thing, and I wonder if you ever did get a resolution of this problem. I recently purchased Foxit and have tried to use it only a few times, because of problems (which the techs are looking at, but no solutions yet). And then just now I happened to stumble across your forum posting about Foxit crashing other programs. Same thing here. When I am using Foxit, my system has crashed repeatedly (MS Word 2003 and and Foxit-generated pdf's) which I have asked techs about, and they are working on it. But now my Outlo0ok Express has started crashing after I have used Foxit Creator. I have not had a Blue Screen since I upgraded to XP Pro - 18 months ago. Did you resolve your issue? Thanks! |
