I am having trouble printing pdf files when viewing in Foxit. I actually get two of the following error messages
The first is "The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file." This appears when I select the print function. When I click OK on that message it goes to the regular print page and I select OK, I then get the following message, "Cannot get the dc of the printer". I get the first message only sometimes, but the second always appears. Any suggestions?? |

From Foxit Support:
Could you help to download the latest Foxit Reader then try again. Does the printing preview work normally? Please kindly email to support@foxitsoftware.com with detailed error report messages you get from Foxit Reader besides "Cannot get the dc of the printer". The origianl PDF file will be helpful for us to identify the problem, too. |

I just installed Foxit Reader and I am having the same problem exactly. I have an HP LaserJet 1000 printer. The printer dialog does come up and shows my printer. When I hit the print icon I get the "Cannot get the dc of the printer" message. This isn't on just one PDF, it's on every one I have tried. I had Adobe Reader and it stopped working. I tried clearing out the .tmp files for it, but I still can't get it to open. I upgraded it to the newest version and it still won't open. That is why I was looking and found Foxit Reader.

Quote:
The print preview do not show the page preview and the zoom is set to 0%. Changing it manually to 100% doesn't change anything. This happens only with this printer and with all kind of PDF files. Gargiulo |

Seems that HP Laserjet printers are not compatibale and friendly with Foxit Reader
We would like to carry out investigaions on printing tests with HP printers in our earliest convenience to fix this problem soon. |

yes, all,
laserjets do seem problematic; on my (old) 1100 I get a page printed in 3/4 of a minute, but upon checking the box 'print as graphics' (in Foxit-settings, general), I get a printout in a 1/4 minute ; this is very little (2-3 seconds) behind Acrobat. Please remember that a lot depends on the page-material (I had a page which wouldn`t print in 4 minutes). To that effect, I suggest that Foxit puts up a "standard page" on the site - for people to load and try/compare printing layouts: printers, drivers, settings, versins, etc.. |
