Default PDF IFilter and ContentType

We have the Foxit PDF Ifilter installed in a MOSS 2007, and PDF documents are being indexed and show up in search results. However, if I update the Sharepoint Search Results web part to output the raw search result xml, it does not look like the ContentType attribute of the search results is being populated with application/pdf for PDF documents. Other document types (xml, html, etc.) that are indexed by Microsoft's built-in filters do have correct content types. Is this something that should be part of the IFilter or can it be configured elsewhere? Thanks.

Chris
