Text quality

What a fantastic piece of software. It's nice to see companies that still care about writing lean software instead of the bloat that normally gets churned out.

My only gripe about this otherwise neat little program is the quality of the text. I have a TFT monitor on Windows XP and enjoy the soothing delights of ClearType fonts but when using Foxit the text seems a little blurry or jagged I can't decide which. Could be the antialiasing. I've tried a number of different PDF's and tried ClearType on and off but it just doesn't seem to look as sharp as Acrobat.

Yes, we get your idea. And we have spent quite a lot on the improvements of rendering quality to make the text display more crisp and less blur. Till today, our developeres have made quite good steps ahead. The next build to be released at about mid August will be even better on this issue. Pls kindly wait for that release then.

i agree in almost all dobby says because this is, REALLY an awesome app:

1. lightweight without need of installer, just copy to any usb -even floppy- and go
2. in full screen mode it lets you zoom the document... wow!! how adobe's didn't add this basic feature?? congratulations on this
3. free! even you can disable ads!

but... i don't like, really don't like the smoothed text!! is there anybody who can read that type of text without feeling eyes die??

please, PLEASE include an option to turn off the smooth text 'feature' (??), i prefer just plain ugly text that doesn't kill my eyes... and what do you think about adding an option to change 'paper and ink' colors??

I remember, from old good times, MSX and Commodore 64 had a cool color configuration that didn't your eyes, MSX had a blue background and non-bright white ink configuration while Commodore had a blue background with sky-blue ink...

well there goes my wish list to an excellent, really excellent application

How silly do I feel... I've just found the Display text for LCD option. WOW. Fantastic. Problem(?) solved.
