  • Digital Signatures and PDF/A

    Hello,

I am trying to covert a document to PDF/A, then digitally sign (Sign and Certify). I am trying to figure out which is the best order and if this will even work.

When I sign the document first, then convert it..it says "The document has been altered since the signature was applied".

When I convert the document first, then try to sign...the option to add a signature is grayed out. There is an edit option, but it mentions the PDF/A attributes will be removed if edited.

What is the best approach to signing a document and converting it to PDF/A for long term archival while ensuring the signature is valid?

    Thank you
