  • Feedback Suggestion for PDF Sign

The PDF Sign feature is very useful. However, it would be useful to be able to add a non-editable date when attaching a signature. At present the signature is embedded (non-editable) but the date associated with the signature can be changes - as its a comment. As a bonus follow on it would be good to be able to add non-editable comments.

    Hello MikeyJ,

Did you draw a signature with PDF sign function and then add a date associated with Typewriter?

No, I'm using a scanned written signature so changing date each use would be a bind!!

You mentioned "At present the signature is embedded (non-editable) but the date associated with the signature can be changes - as its a comment.", could you please kindly make a screenshot where you see the date associated with the signature or which tool you used to add the date so we could better know the issue and advise? Thank you.

          Sorry for the big paws!!

The image below shows the tail end of my signature - non editable, and the APPROVED stamp (for date) which is editable - it can be moved, deleted, changed. On occasions we use the text field for the date if the stamp is too big.

It seemed that you tried to add the dynamic stamps to the PDF document. The dynamic stamps belong to annotations. If you'd like to prevent it from being changed, you may print to Foxit Reader PDF Printer to created a same new PDF document with only image objects. Please give it a try. Thank you.

              Cherry,

That would be the simplest solution. However, there is much faffing about saving-as, deleting original and renaming as we would be retaining the same filename. So it would be really nice to have maybe a "freeze" button that converts all annotations (including dynamic stamps) to non-editable.

If you'd like, you may also install Foxit PhantomPDF Standard/Business, then go under "Organize"->"Flatten" the page to make the stamp a part of the document layer rather than commenting layer. Thank you.

                  Cherry,

The flatten function looks to be the tool. However, FoxitPDF Standard/Business is a paid version - this would be a little expensive for using only this tool. The majority of us do not have a requirements to edit PDFs. However, if you went down the road of floating licences, this could be a winner!!

Could the flatten function find its way into the Foxit Reader?

                  Thanks
                  Mike

Out of consideration of product differentiation, currently the flatten function is not available in free reader. We'll submit your request to our product team for evalution.
