I have read the Foxit "how to" article on setting Foxit Reader to be the default PDF Reader when using the Opera Browser. I have followed the instructions to the letter, but all Opera will do is open the Download pop-up. I have the "Use Default PDF Reader" box checked in the Opera settings.

After many failed attempts, and having tried every option I could find online, I finally contacted Opera and was informed that Opera does not support Local Default PDF Readers. Instead, you have to use their Browser Reader or you are forced to download and then open PDF files separately, which is, honestly, quite ridiculous and controlling.

Is this really the case or have I been given some bad information? Is there something I am missing in setting up Opera to use Foxit Reader as my default when using the Internet?
