  • In some PDF-Files Comment functions are disabled

    Hello people,

in some PDF-Files we can't use Comment-functions (like Stamps, notes, ...).

The security settings in these files shows "no protection" and the document restrictions summary shows "allowed" (see screenshot security.jpg).

With other tools like "PDF XChange Viewer" comments are usable.

What I noticed is, that these files have PDF/A standard (see screenshot examples.jpg).

    Any idea?

    Thanks and a nice day.

    Dear Hose,

When a PDF/A compliant document is opened, a bubble message appears at the top right corner of the document area shown as below. Click on Enable Editing, accept the change by clicking on Yes, then you can do the comment.

      Hello Lyndi,

that would be to easy. ?

Unfortunately there isn't a bubble message.

Is there a way to do the setting without the bubble?

      Best regards.

Also you can disable the view mode for PDF/A and allow editing always, please open Foxit, go to File>Preferences>Documents, select Never for View document in PDF/A mode.
