    Hello Foxit,
every new Foxit Reader update I read the release notes, but nothing about this forum topic: Make highlighted Text extractable for "Docear"
I need to work with docear, and after almost 8,000 views of this thread, I consider your support is definitely ignoring our requests.
So I'll switch to another pdf viewer.
    Bye

      Hi corrado,

Sorry for this. This request has already been forwarded as suggestion (Suggestion ID#READER-946) to Reader PM team back in June 2014 when you wrote to us. I've added a reminder to Suggestion ID#READER-946 to PM team to get an update.

        Hi
Could you please let us know when (or if at all) we can expect the feature of extracting highlighted text from the pdf and/or making it availble for Docear?

          HI Peter28,

Just a quick update: We plan to add "when text is highlighted, show highlighted text as comment text" to version 8.1 so the highlight text could be extract-able for Docear. If everything goes well, this feature could be available in version 8.1.

Hi Cherry, I'd like to find out when Foxit Reader 8.1 is expected to be released. I've just downloaded the mobile version 4.4 which I'd like to use with Docear and found out that the highlighted text is not extractable. I'm using Foxit Reader on my ipad that I'd like to use to highlight content that I'm going to use for my Masters Thesis that I'll use with Docear.

              Hi GIST,

I can't promise you the accurate date. But version 8.1 is planned to be released in Decemeber, 2015, if everything goes well. Thank you again for your kind understanding.

                Hello Foxit,

Are there any updates on either the implementation status or the release of version 8.1? Thanks!

Thank you for the continuous updates.
Any idea when 8.1 will be released? Can we kept up to date on it?
Also, for the programmers, will the changes to Foxit work retroactively?
That is, for Foxit to work with Docear it needs to save highlighted text as a comment. If it will start doing that from 8.1 could it also work for highlighting done in pre-8.1?

Sorry that I can't promise the release date of version 8.1. But you may sign up for Foxit Newsletter at: https://www.foxitsoftware.com/
Then you'll receive the release info in time by email. If the new feature is implemented in version 8.1, all the versions released after version 8.1 (includes 8.1) will work with Docear. Thank you.

Yes, please! This would make a huge difference, and is a great feature to add. Really nice that the Android edition already does this! Keep up the good work, looking forward to the new update!

I believe that Docear could be a nice solution for scientific paper writing.

I'm currently running Foxit 8.3.1.21155 an cannot find the aforementioned option. Docear is not able to extract text highlighted by Foxit, nor can I find any settings relating to this. Am I missing something?
