Win Vista Ultimate SP2
MS Office 2007 SP2 all updates applied I am typically using the foxit printer to create pdfs from a Word document. This works fine. But if I need to preserve hyperlinks, I use the Word com addin. And here the problems start. After a fresh install of the pdf creator, the icon of the com-addin is visible in the Add-Ins bar of Word. I can convert files to pdf, and hyperlinks preserve. However, when the com-addin is loaded, there are many other issues like lost functionality of drag and drop of attachments into emails, created with Outlook 2007, or a problem in windows fax and scan which then cannot find the windows address book to verify receipients of faxes. Also, windows search v. 4 shuts down and gives error messages. After some searches I found a problem registering ole32.dll which fails when trying to reregister it using regsvr32.exe. When I close and reopen Word, it reports an error in the com-addin and suggests to disable the add-in. If I disable the add-in, all other problems listed above instantly disappear, but I can't create pdf's with preserved hyperlinks. So, my current workaround is to work most of the time with the com-addin disabled (and have an otherwise working system), and only enable it, if I need to convert hyperlinks in a word document. Anybody else having the same problem? Or even a better workaround? Thanks |

Would you please try to convert your file with Foxit PDF Printer from the printer list by clicking Print button instead of the add-in?
And please run Foxit Reader > go to Edit menu > Preferences > General > check "Create links from URLs" If hyperlinks can not be preserved, would you please give us a file with hyperlinks to help us do testing here? All the files which you send to us will be kept confidential and only for internal use. |
