Hi!
Thank you for such QUICK PDF viewer!! 1. BUG. But... I do not understand. Why it is not possible unmark the tick "set to default PDF reader". I prefer use Foxit Reader. But in some cases I want choose by default "Acrobat reader". And for example. If I run Foxit Reader with purpose just to see only One time my pdf file in Foxit... then it become by default! I do not want always go to Acrobat reader and say "Acrobat reader by default". :-\It is not friendly option in Foxit Reader! It should not become by default...even Foxit is only one PDF viewer in the system. ---------------------------------- 2. BUG "Tools -> Preferences - > Page Display -> Continuous" is not working as default option. I can send you pdf-file where "View->Page Display" is marked as "Facing"... And if I changing it to "View-...-Continuous". Next time I should do it again. I do really want to use Continuous for ALL pdf files. If I'm mistaken, tell me please. Thank You!. 1. Go to "Tools -> Preferences - > History -> Restore last view settings when reopening", uncheck this option. 2. Go to "Tools -> Preferences - > Page Display -> Continuous". 3. Continuous shall be the default view mode for all files.

Dear Christina, thank you for your response!

As for 2nd: Yes you are right. I think that it should be by default if make such configurations. But it is not... It works only if I mark "Restore last view settings when reopening"... (then those documents are open in continuous mode, if I configured them and reopen). Therefore there is something wrong... screenshot is attached. As for 1st: I removed "3.1.1.0928" and downloaded the new one - Foxit Reader 3.1.2.1013.exe. And during Installation process it did not ask me about whether or not I want to associate it with pdf files. I think that green mark in "Help->Set to default PDF reader" is illogical. Logically it should work if I want unmark it and Foxit reader should remove any association. It also illogical in the following case. I downloaded Phantom...and there is a trial period. For example I want to use Foxit Reader as default viewer, but in some cases try Phantom. It does not ask me whether I want it use by default or not also. As a result pdf files are associated with Phantom. And problem with "Continuing view" is still there. If you need any additional information towards mentioned problems, I gladly provide it. Foxit Reader is very quick and useful software. Thank you! Best wishes, M. Last edited by Nauint; October 22nd, 2009 at 08:49 AM. Reason: attached screenshot, addition |

Hi Nauint,
About Page Display -> Continuous If you hope Preferences settings apply to all pdfs, do not check "Restore last view settings when reopening"... , this option is only for current user settings (view->page display). About Default Reader, 1. Currently once Foxit Phantom was installed, it will be set as default, there is no option to change. (In future version, we will change it) 2. If you have Foxit Phantom installed, and install Foxit Reader, there is no option for you to check if set it as defult or not, it will be installed as default reader. 3. If not Foxit Phantom installed, and install Foxit Reader, you will get an option to check if set it as defult or not in the Finish setup screen. 4. If you keep Foxit Phantom and Foxit Reader, just check "Help->Set to default PDF reader" in Phantom or Reader to change the default association. In the future vesion, we will improvements on this association btween Phantom and Reader. Thanks Christina

Dear Christina,
I think you did not understand me, Once again: If "preferences-page display-default page layout-continuous" AND "preferences-History-Restore last view settings when reopening (uncheked)" (It uncheked by default, and I did not check it!) THEN documents UNFORTUNATELY DO NOT OPEN IN CONTINUOUS MODE. Please, find an attachment below as an evidence. (Bug-Continuous-mode.jpg) ----------------- Quote:
Foxit01.jpg ... Foxit08.jpg And there is no option. With best wishes, M. Last edited by Nauint; October 27th, 2009 at 10:33 AM. |

Dear, Christina...
Excuse me, could you please answer on the mentioned problems? You have recommended me two things to do, but those options either not working or absent (I've provided screenshots). Thank you! |

Sorry Nauint, for this delay in reply.
1. viewing setting. Please help to supply us a file sample you mentioned the screen shot for taking a look. I can't repro the issue. 2. default reader setting. We will separate the Foxit Reader from phantom. You won't experience this annoyance setting any longer. Thanks.

Christina, thank you!
I know that Foxit team is busy... anyway you have found time to write this response... :) thank you. 1. Please find below an attached file... it opens in "facing mode" (in Foxit Reader and Phantom also)... Please, let me know if you successfully :( reproduced this problem. 2. :) Okay! We understood each other :) I just wanted it to be logical. Like, you say a magic word: "be by default" and it becomes by default and checks association. "do not be by default" and it removes any association. Thank you! Best wishes, M. Last edited by Nauint; November 4th, 2009 at 04:31 AM. |
