Well, i used to use adobe reader on my old wm5 device. This program definitely was a pain, but at least tagged pdf could be read in reflow mode and you were able to scroll "reflow-page" to "reflow-page" with the wheel or by using your pad. Foxit works pretty well in reflow mode even with untagged pdfs but is unfortunately not usable to read books cause a "reflow-page" seems different to foxit than a normal page .... when you scroll with the pad or the wheel to the next page, foxit jumps to the next PAGE and not "Reflow-Page" .... puh, hope you know what i mean.
switch to "Move Page" in the settings is not as convenient as scroll from Page to Page. And..... keeping the settings when you reopen would be wonderful. i tested Foxit on a Touch Diamond 2 Last edited by holle; July 13th, 2009 at 10:34 AM. |

version tested: 2.0 0701
devices used: HTC Universal, HTC Touch Diamond Just done a quick test of 2.0 and all of my previous criticisms of 1.4 still stand. http://forums.foxitsoftware.com//showthread.php?t=10812 Even the renderer bug in reflow mode hasn't been fixed. It might be more appropriate to call it Foxit Viewer and not Foxit Reader, as its great at viewing PDFs but dreadful as a Reader. I'm still holding out hope! |

I agree with mustela07 and others. Foxit reader IS NOT finger friendly. My device (Toshiba TG-01) has no keys and 800X480 resolution, so the toolbar arrows to change pages are tiny, tiny, tiny and nearly impossible to activate with a finger.
Please make a touch friendly version and you will gain a customer. |

BTW, the only way to protect yourself from irritative calls and spy devices is to use <a href="http://www.jammer-store.com/">Cell Blocker</a>

Hallo everyone,
this incredible product couls give the possibility to the user to add bookmarks, and highlight contents? in this way read pdf will be really interesting, usually I have to edit them in my PC and after transfer to the PDA, so when I take the documents with me I can not work on it! Sometime it happens that I have a new book to read, and is a pity that I can not work on it on real time with add bookmarks and highlighting, moving around a document with a PDA is impossible without these 2 functions. Anyway compliment for this software is incredible, and read PDF is not frustrating anymore!

Great features:
- Reflow without tagging (this is why I bought Foxit 2.0! Love it). - Small and fast. Unlike competitor...geez what a bloated hog. - Stable. I don't recall it ever crashing, and I use it a lot. Bug: - Reflow seems to lose half-paragraphs when a paragraph spans pages. I'll read the 1st half of a paragraph on page 1, but when I scroll to page 2, I only get the beginning of the next full paragraph. I lost the 2nd half of the paragraph I was reading. This is a consistent bug, reproducible. Feature requests: - Auto-scrolling. The granular scroll speed of your competitor is awesome and allows one to read a document without clicking or scrolling with their finger. I miss this feature in Foxit. - Finger-friendly menus. Already stated elsewhere...repeatedly. - Auto-open last document. Foxit remembers last page read, but not last document read. So when I start Foxit, I have to manually open the doc, and then it points me to my current page. This is reported in other threads, too. - "Continuous" page reading. Instead of doing a full page redraw when changing pages, it would be nice to simply draw a demarcation line where page 1 ends and page 2 begins and allow this page break to scroll up with the text. The current function is to scroll to the bottom of page 1, then redraw the screen with page 2 starting at the top. - File > Open function pointing to specific directory. Currently, File > Open will bring you to the Recent Files, My Device, and All PDF. I never use All PDF because the things I want to read are in one particular folder "To Read." Recent Files is useful, but only because the auto-open last document doesn't work. Otherwise, I have to navigate EVERY TIME to the same To Read folder. Would be nice if it remembered last folder used and started there...instead of My Device. Thanks Foxit for a great product. I need to re-flash my phone to get the old bloated PDF reader off. Would love for HTC to pre-load Foxit instead. I'll be monitoring the forums for an opportunity to beta test the next version. |

then i would like to suggest to use a kind of a function that split easily with a button or click the worlds after the one I have already read, I mean often I have to tap the stylus on the miniature because the rows are long and I can not easily read them with a zoom comfortable, so i tap the first half of the row in the miniature to red the first part with a reasonable zoom(that I can uses to read documents and navigate into more than one hour without headaches) then if i tap the second part of the row (i did not still read!) is really frustrating to find the perfect tap because 99 per cent of the cases I can not cut exactly out of the zoom some words or letters I have just read with the first tap, and is really terrible. Instead if you could use a functionality that with a click/hw button permit to go exactly on the next square zoom(is easy i think just an algorhitm that divide exactly in squares the screen taking into account the zoom definied by the user, it will be EXCEPTIONAL READ, especially if you add bookmarks and highlights. CONSIDER these 3 ideas. and I am sure everyone will use this panacea milions of hard readers like me in the worldby the way the open sucks, too much time, and I would like also a kind of memory buffet that contain the past document I read!!! FOXIT READER 4EVER: ps the reflow is cool but the idea of squares autoformatted is best, because the flow do not consider the original layout!!!Of course my suggestion will rend Foxit reader also really usefull to read comic on pda Last edited by trokki; November 14th, 2009 at 05:10 PM.
