  • Bug Cannot share text with some applications (e.g., AnkiDroid)

When I select text, and go to share (upper right, the graph with the three nodes at the left of the "...") some apps are not shown, that should be shown. For example, AnkiDroid, which I have installed. Note that I can share text selected from PDFs with AnkiDroid from other apps just fine, including Xodo and ezPDF reader, so this is not a problem of AnkiDroid; it seems a problem on the list of apps that Foxit shows as those to share text with.

The fact that Foxit only shows some apps to share with is also related to this Feature request: http://forums.foxitsoftware.com/foru...marking-a-word

So it seems there is a more general issue of Foxit only showing some apps to share selected text with.

anon9832, We apologize for any difficulty using Foxit Software. Regarding the issue that you mentioned, please help to provide us with the following information for further analysis:
1:Your device model and its OS information.
2:Which Foxit Software are you using? And please check its version number for us.
3:Please take a screenshot in the Foxit application to show us what apps you could see after you click on "share" from the selected texts and then take another screenshot in Xodo or eZPDF Reader to show us what apps you could see when you try to share texts with?
4:The version number of AnkiDroid application you have installed.

    Look forward to your reply.

Thank you for your reply, and apologies for the delay. Here are the answers to your question:

      1. Device: Galaxy Tab S7 FE. OS: Android 12

      2. Version of Foxit: Foxit PDF Editor for Android, version 12.0.0.0627.1538

      3. I am attaching a screenshot; but they key problem is that we can share (when clicking on the upper right icon, left to the three dots) the whole document, not the words marked themselves. That is why only some apps are shown, those that can open a PDF. But I want to share a word or set of words sending them to another program.
If I click on text, I can do "copy" and then I could paste that text in other apps; but that is a very long and cumbersome procedure.

In other words, what would be ideal is to be able to "share" text (words marked in the PDF) to other apps directly.

      4. AnkiDroid: I am using version 2.16alpha62, from the releases under https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android . But, as I say, this is not, I think, relevant. The key problem, I think, is that Foxit allows to *share a document* and to *copy text to the clipboard*. But it does not allow to *share text to other apps*.

This issue is also discussed in http://forums.foxitsoftware.com/foru...429#post189429 where I provide additional details, and examples of what happens with Xodo and ezPDF reader.

Since the general problem is sharing words with other apps, both are actually the same issue I think.
