  • Bug File size does not reduce after delet pages.

After deleting pages from a PDF document, then saving, the file size of the result document remains ~same as the original.

This 'bug' / issue has been around for a long time.
I've tried saving, flattening then saving but no difference. Even if I delete 9 pages from a 10 page document.
It seems that the content (graphics, text etc.) from the deleted pages is not being delete / purged from the main document.

    Any advice?

    Hi Nozokyo,

In Foxit PhantomPDF, the deletion of the pages of the PDF document will not reduce the file size, on the contrary, it will add up to the file size. The deletion operation data will be added to the document. In this case, you may try to extract the pages you want to be an independent PDF document with small file size by going under "Organize"->"Extract". Thank you.

The operation where I delete pages is in Thumbnail-view. Then I save before returning to the Home menu.

How can I expunge the redundant data that remains in the document after the related pages have been deleted?

        Hi Nozokyo,

Thanks for the update. Is it possible to make a screen capture that shows how you delete pages in Thumbnail view so we could better know the problem and advise? Which version of Foxit MobilePDF for iOS are you having?
