What's "best" image-format supported in the newest PDF format?

I know it's a little off-topic but couldn't find a better place.

Are JPEG2000 still the "best" supported raster-format in then latest PDF standard (assume it's 2.0) or have they added some of the newer and better formats e.g. webp?

My google search didn't come up with a answer

Foxit supports PNG,JPEG,JPEG2000,TIFF,BMP formats, webp is not supported yet.
