Checkbox Total JavaScript

Hello,

I have a safety form I'm editing that has multiple check boxes under columns Yes, No, and N/A. What I'm trying to do is add a box at the bottom of the columns that'll display the total amount of boxes checked in each column but I guess I need a JavaScript to create the custom calculation. I had tried doing the regular sum calculation but it didn't work and after looking around the general consensus seemed to be that I need a JavaScript. I am hopeless when it comes to coding, can anyone help me create a script for this?
