  • Multiple devices?

I've just finished my evaluation of PhantomPDF business and really liked it.

On the subscription model, can I install and activate the software using 1 licence on 2 computers like I can with Acrobat? or is this 1 licence per device? Just trying to determine the cost - would come in just over $100 per year more expensive than acrobat if it's 1 licence per device.

Thank you for choosing Foxit as your pdf solution. It is 1 licence per device, you can move the license between computers you are only user for computers.

Thank you. Does that mean I would have to transfer the licence to the new device each time I change or do I just logout on one device and login to the other as long as 2 are not running at the same time?

Wouldn't be possible to make the process easier for users who bought a one-time license and use 2 computers, please? For example, register the license into the account and auto-activate the license at login. The restriction could be applied to 2 computers maximum, and only 1 at the same time, for example.

The one-time perpetual license is not per account. For one-time perpetual license, you could open Foxit PDF Editor->go to "Help"->"Deactivate" to release the activation then you could activate the software on another computer; If you don't have that computer any more, you may submit a ticket here: https://www.foxit.com/support/ticket.html?isReturn=1
and let us know you'd like to transfer the license, we'll perform the deactivation for you.
For more info about the Editor licensing model, you may refer to this KB article: https://kb.foxitsoftware.com/hc/en-u...icensing-Model

              Dear cherry ,

Thanks for your message. My problem is that I work on a PC at home and on a laptop out of home, but I need Foxit PDF Editor to be available whenever. I don't want to deactivate and reactivate the license everyday. It's cumbersome (or just frustrating to pay another license only for that). And I never use 2 computers at the same time. It's one or the other.

creal For the situation, would you like to purchase 2 copies license of Foxit PDF Editor? then you can activate Foxit PDF Editor on two machines. Or would you like to have a try on Foxit PDF Editor online? which allows to log in by account. https://pdfonline.foxit.com/?source=online
                Thanks.

Dear amanda_liang what I tried to explain is that it's a pity that with only 1-license we can't switch between 2 computers since they are not used at the same time. I wish I could do that, like any of other software I have, but it's impossible. My message is more a feature request than anything else. I would like to switch between 2 computers without activate & deactivate the license each time.

creal As above Cherry replied, Foxit allows to transfer license between machines and user able to handle it on machine directly. Due to you said "I don't want to deactivate and reactivate the license everyday." I provied another options for reference. Can you please check? thanks.

De-activating then activating is already what I do everyday to be able to use Foxit on my PC and on my laptop. It's just non-intuitive compared to other softwares philosophy, which generally allow the user to activate 2 machines with only 1 license. I am not interested in Foxit online since I already bought a perpetual license.

I understand it, but currently the only way to use it for new device is de-activating then reactivating. I will forward your feedback to our market team for future evaluation, hope it will be considered. Thank you.

This is really unacceptable not allowing users to have it active on 2 devices, when only using on 1 device at the same time. Specially nowadays. A lot of people working from home or office depending on pandemic situation. Activate/Deactivate almost every day?? Why? Make it easy to your customers, make them to love your product!
When we purchased subscription licenses sales rep said that it's for 2 devices (same as Adobe). Buying 2 licenses? What is the point then to use Foxit comparing to Acrobat? You guys have to change it.
