  • Form Fields - Sometimes missing, for some users

    Hello all - this is the oddest situation I've faced with PDFs. I manage many documents with Foxit, and our end users use a variety of software to use the documents on their end - this issue also include users that use Foxit, however, so I don't think that is necessarily the issue.

    Form fields that I have created for users to fill out, sometimes are missing. I always verify that it's in order before releasing the PDFs, but this keeps coming up as an issue. It's some fields on the document that they cannot see or use...and it's not always the same fields (naming convention, type varies). Has anyone heard of this type of issue, and any possible solutions?

      This is typically an issue due to filling out the form with Apple Preview, aka "the PDF killer".

        2: Under Form tab, I selected Text field or Combo box and added. I did not use any other features - files are stored in cloud storage on Box.com

          I'm not familiar with iPads that much - is Apple Preview available for any PDF program used on an iPad, or is that only available for the standard program(s)? We will definitely keep an eye out for this.

              I have also run into this problem on my Macbook M1 Pro. When I open a PDF in Foxit PDF Editor for Mac, some fields will be missing, especially signature fields. If I switch to Parallels and run Foxit PDF Editor Pro for Windows everything shows up fine. When I open the PDF in Adobe Reader there is never a problem with either Mac or VM Windows.

                Is it possible to provide more details of the issue so we could further analyze on our side and better advise?
                1) Version number of your Foxit PDF Editor for Mac;
                2) The PDF document in question;
                3) With which tool did you fill out the form?
                4) A screenshot of the problem.

                If it is inconvenient to upload the file here, would you mind submitting a ticket here: https://www.foxit.com/support/ticket.html?isReturn=1 and send us the file? [Attn: Cherry] Thank you.

                  I created a separate post about my particular problem, since this post looked old: https://forums.foxitsoftware.com/for...editor-for-mac

                  lyndi_wu created a ticket: ID#MACLNX-10913.
