Dear Roy_Chen,
I looked at the program again in detail, and it struck me that there is apparently already (like in the pictures above in Word, Outlook and OneNote) such a "Darkmode for the document", to be found under View > Mode "Night".
This "darkmode" doesn't work the way I thought it would. Apparently only a dark background is displayed, which can only be seen if you have pure text. The problem with this is that when this "document darkmode" is activated, the font is not inverted, it remains black and is therefore virtually unreadable. Could this "darkmode" be improved in the future?
One more question from me: How long has this "darkmode" been around?

Thanks for your report, actually it's a known issue and I already add this to the engineering team as report id#QCPHANTOM-28109, and our team is still working the Night Mode enhancement,I will forward an update the moment I have it.
Also, did you try the feature "Replace Document color" to see if it meets your need? see my attachment here.Comment

Many thanks to Lisa for posting the link to the older version of the reader. I have removed the just-installed version, re-installed the old one, and it worked like a charm -- the annying tab was gone. I I myself, like others, was very annoyed that each time I tried to comment anything in a PDF (which I do all the time) the tab would pop and reduce the zoom level of my document and hide some portions of it. I do not need 20 colours and line widths to write comments. There must be a way to make that tab lest intrusive.Comment

Dear Foxit Users,
Just have a little patience, there are only ten to fourteen weeks until the release of the new version! (??????) In only 2 to 3 months your money for version 11 will be worth it, then the format tab no longer opens automatically, but remains open or closed. Programming something like this is incredibly time-consuming, it does not work within 3-4 months. ?
Dear Foxit:
Please, please fix it, and not in 3 months!!!
As you can see in this now 156 (!) Posts, and therefore largest topic in the forum, this thing with this annoying format tab is a pretty big concern for us user. What's the problem? Why are there no comments, why are we always put off with the future? Please give us either answers or solutions, I don't have to tell you how this current postponement tactic is received by us users.

My money for version 11 will likely never be worth it, since I gave up and switched to Qoppa (the other alternative I had been considering) when it became apparent that this wasn't going to be fixed in a timely manner. I'm only sticking around to hopefully get what I paid for, since they're not offering refunds to those who bought the upgrade trusting that they weren't going to totally break it. Considering that Qoppa not only works, but works on Linux, I doubt I'll ever come back to Foxit. (Qoppa also offers refunds for situations like this, whereas continuing to use Foxit would require me to thoroughly test the trial version with every upgrade, which I really don't have time for.)Comment

Hello All, All of your feedbacks about our Foxit format panel in this thread are highly valued. To improve the user experience while using the format panel, our product marketing department plans to redesign and implement the format panel in more than one stage. In the first stage, the format panel will still be located on the right side of the Foxit application, but we redesign the entire workflow that triggers the format panel to open, so that the Foxit application itself can remember the format panel state set by the user last time (closed status or opened status).
Before the user does not actively reopen the format panel again manually, the panel will not appear again automatically when you choose a tool in the Foxit application.
The above mentioned first stage will be implemented in the upcoming V11.1 of Foxit PDF Editor/Reader.

I still have no clue why this first stage wasn't pushed out quickly as a hotfix. If such a simple change really is that complicated, how are they going to manage something more difficult, like actually redesigning the panel? Although, it sounds like the problem is not with the developers, but with the marketing department, who seems to think that it's reasonable to put out and charge full price for a version that is unusable.Comment

I requested a refund, since I've gotten nothing from my upgrade fee except an invitation to continue using the version I had before the "upgrade". They refused, claiming that they are fixing this "asap". A several month delay (November) for a trivial patch to alleviate a show-stopper is not asap. I had been willing to consider Foxit in the future even though I'm not currently using it, but with the lack of support* and the inability to get a refund, I'm not willing to risk any future purchases from them.
* The agents seem to be doing their best to be helpful, and I do appreciate that, but it's been months and we still have nothing. It appears that whoever makes the decisions is not allowing support to happen, at least not in a timely manner.Comment

The amount of time for such a simple change in the program's behavior is ridiculously long. So long that's it's weird. What are you guys hiding? The whole dev team is gone? Customers have been complaining for more than 3 months.Last edited by Macallows; 09-03-2021, 02:44 AM.Comment
