I am sorry that our developers don't work on Forum directly since they are focusing on program development.Thanks for your kind understanding.
But our forum moderators always pay attention to forum threads.We do have already submitted users' feedback about the ribbon toolbar mode to our internal feature system for our product marketing team and development team's reference.

Your developers should read the forum posts every single day! How else do they know what user want and they should add, change, or remove? Nothing straightens out a developer more than a disgruntled user.
What bugs me even more that rather than fixing the issue you spend effort on making up excuses without giving any indication if Foxit will fix the UX flaw or keep the utterly dysfunctional ribbon in place intentionally ignoring quite many user requests. If you do not care what users want, have the decency to tell us so that we can ditch Foxit for good and find a different PDF reader.
As far as user engagement is concerned... you failed!

I started using foxit reader cause it was fast to load and the UI was nice and simple.
Now I don't see why every software company feels compelled to change the UI to something that is far more a hindrance, and wastes so much screen real estate for everything. I'm going to stick with the old foxit reader 7.2.8.1124 version or find another pdf reader. Can people seriously not read now days and need little icons for everything?

Another one. Just upgraded. Just uninstalled. Couldn't remove the ribbon. Can't go back to previous version. I'll have to try Sumatra too. So long old friend. :-(

Me too. I was happy I found Foxit because it seemed they didn't abandon their productive users, but this move shows they'd rather glom onto the latest trend without actually researching whether it makes the product better. Please re-instate the classic toolbar.

I also joined to express my displeasure with the stupid ribbon.

The ribbon was just a cluttered mess. All those tiny icons! Putting dozens of little buttons across multiple tabs is insanity. Who uses all those things on a daily basis? There was no logical order to them as far as I could tell. More is not always better, and this is a prime example. I think there were buttons just for the marketing team to say "we have more items than anyone else".

Adding one click to a menu might not seem like much, but those add up over the course of a day, week and year. Ten or twenty extra clicks a day could be 30,000 extra steps and maybe up to 2500 extra hours a year of lost time. (20*5)*300=30,000. (30000*5 seconds)/60=2500. Even at a very conservative one second per extra click it adds up.

I had the classic toolbar narrowed down to probably less than 10 commands that I used all the time. It saved screen space, and it made it quick and easy to pick the item I wanted. My custom list of commands may not have been the same things everyone else used (but I suspect they are the most common ones) but that was the beauty of the way it was, I could make it work for my needs and job requirements.

I uninstalled and I am looking for a program that allows me to have a simple, clean, user interface. I really liked Foxit, and I am sorry to see it go.

I originally wrote of my annoyance on the 22nd Jan 2016, and here we are on the last day of March where it appears to be a given, the Classic toolbar is gone forever..
I just don't get it...
Granted you'll find a few sad people who like a/the Ribbon Toolbar, but the contributions to this thread mirror elsewhere the general dislike by a large number of computer user of the Ribbon tool bar concept.
Yet the coders continue to be fooled into thinking, as the support staff try to fool us into thinking... "Once you get used to it, you'll find ribbon toolbar is way much better than the classic toolbar". Yet all the feedback evidence seems to show it is massively *not* the case.

The clutter, the clunkiness of a ribbon toolbar is never going to be better than a classic, sleek, easy to use and view toolbar whatever corporate slant/speak you put on it.

I am afraid that currently our developers still doesn't have the plan to add back the classic toolbar now. The classic toolbar mode may be phased out in the future considering more and more people get used to the Ribbon mode.You may feed that it is uncomfortable to use the ribbon toolbar now. Once you get used to it, you'll find ribbon toolbar is way much better than the classic toolbar just like those users who likes Ribbon toolbar mode. Thank you.

NO!! This is not about "getting used to it". Yes, different people prefer different styles but this is not just about disliking the look of it. The entire workflow has been changed and complicated (ie. Save As has added extra and unnecessary mouse clicks) and users DO NOT like being confused. The first rule of UI design is to streamline and simplify processes for the user and the latest updates and move to the ribbon interface definitely DOES NOT follow that rule.

Add another user to the growing list of people jumping ship. I'm sure your competitors appreciate your decision even if your users don't.
