  • Bug Prints incorrectly - how to reset settings?

    Hello,

    I wonder how one can reset the Print settings or more preferably ALL user settings in Foxit Reader 6.05?

    The program began to print incorrectly after I changed the Scaling Type to "Custom Style" and then back to the original "Fit to Printer Margins". PDFs have now about 1/3 inch portion missing from near the end of the print (see this scan).

    I have reinstalled Foxit Reader, but it didn't help. My printer (Canon MP210) is working correctly with the other programs such as Word and I have also installed the newest printer drivers.

    My operating system is Vista 64bit with the latest updates. Any help would be greatly appreciated on this problem.

    Hi Veikko.

    Sorry not to be able to help, but it will be interesting to see what suggestions you get, as I am having a similar problem in as much as the page numbers, or any other information at the bottom of a page, never get printed. I've tried all sorts of things, but never solved the problem. I tried it out on Adobe Reader and the page numbers are printed. Even so, I prefer Foxit. Seems to be more user friendly than Adobe.

    I'm using Windows 8 and an HP 3050 printer. I've even tried printing borderless and still no page numbers.

    Ken.

      Hmm, I wonder if deleting the Foxit Software registry entries would reset the settings? It looks like the settings are firmly stored there and they do not reset upon reinstalling the program.

        Hi, I'm having the same problem but I don't think it depends on the print options, on another pc I've an older version of Foxit Reader ( 6.0.2.0413 ) and it print the same file without defects. So I think it's a bug introduced in the last versions.

        Edit: I just uninstalled the last version and installed the version 6.0.2.0413 but the problem is still present. So it must be a bug related to the registry. Is there a simple way to complete uninstal foxit reader cleaning all of the registry entries?

          Hey guys,

          Sorry for this printing problem. We're investigating this issue and will fix it in Foxit Reader 6.1 if everything goes well. On your side, could you please try to untick 'Print as Image' option in the print dialog and see if this setting makes difference? Thank you in advance.

              Hi urmet86,

              Does the unticking of 'Print as Image' in print window helps?

              btw, we're now beta testing Foxit Reader 6.1 and it should be available within this month. Thank you.

                Hello.

                There was no tick in "Print as Image".

                  Hi there,

                  I've found a folder named "Foxit Reader" in users profile-folder. A remove of it resets the print-settings. Please try out and let me know, whether it works for you.

                  Kind regards
                  Inga

                        @The Dekkerator,

                        Before the printing, please go to "File"->"Print"->then untick "Print as Image" and see if this setting helps.

                        If this setting doesn't help, please provide the following info:
                        1) Version info of your Foxit Reader;
                        2) OS info of your PC; (E.g. Win7, 32-bit or 64-bit)
                        3) A copy of the PDF document for testing purpose;
                        4) A screenshot/picture of the incorrect print result;
                        5) Your Printer info.

                        BTW, you may also choose to send the info to [email protected]. (Attn: Cherry)
