  • Latest release - A regression

The latest update (v 6.0.3.0524) was uploaded/installed this morning (without any warning - I just received a message thanking me for updating, this despite my having chosen updates not to be automatically installed).

I find it disappointing that you have chosen to implement two of Microsoft's most reviled "features", namely the ribbon and a Windows 8 theme/UI. Although I have only read about Windows 8's UI, having now seen what it looks like, I must concur with its detractors: it is horrendously ugly!

Is there a way I can revert to a standard Windows 7 theme/UI?

I don't mind the concept of the ribbon and I think that the interface is laid out a bit more intuitively than in previous versions, so that's an upgrade....

But the aesthetics are cover-your-eyes AWFUL, and I'm usually not the type to create an account on a forum to just so I can complain about a program's aesthetics. .The previous version was not anything special, but clean, smooth and not-distracting. This is blocky and garish, no matter what skin I pick (purple? really? you're going to create a purple skin but not anything with rounded edges?).

C'mon Foxit, just create a skin that looks like last version's Black and I'll shut up.

Yes, I hate it! Just eat the first part of the screen with nothing interesting for me...I just want to see my document, no toolbars filling the entire screen, please. I like Foxit Reader... until now. I have to uninstall and look for another PDF reader (or install a very OLD copy of Foxit in order to get back my "simply, fast and without nonseses" pdf reader. This version is as annoying as the Acrobar Reader... Please, put a little toolbar with the minimum vertical space occupied...

I just tried V6.06 (70MB install) it is now Select "File" Menu, select "Change Toolbar Mode", and choose classic.
