  • Foxit Reader Version 2.4.1 for Linux. xfa form import Error.

    I have been running a Foxit Reader Windows Version 5.4.5.0124 on WinXp for a few years. I have a PDF form created with Adobe that has allowed import of data.xml in xfa format. Everything works but cannot run WinXP forever.

    Installed Foxit Reader Linux Version 2.4.1.0609 on Ubuntu 16. The same PDF form will load and I can fill in the form and export and import that export. Format xfdf. When I attempt to import the same data.xml that worked on the Windows version I get the error ""Form data file not found or could not be opened. Check if the file was moved, renamed or deleted". I did check read/write permissions for the data.xml file.

    The feature list at https://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf-re...iew-print-pdf/ says "Allows users to leverage exiting forms and workflow with standard PDF (Acroforms) and XFA (XML Form Architecture) form filling."

    The *.xml format tag is:
    <xfa:data xmlns:xfa="http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/">

    Is the xfa format still supported? Am I missing something simple?

    Thank you for your time and years of use. This seems to be the only PDF reader that supports forms on Linux. I really hope to continue using your product.

    EDIT 2018 04 13

    Windows 7 Version 9.0.1.1049 does import the data into the form.

    Steps in Linux I tried with no success.

    Ran Foxit reader as root. -- No
    chmod 777 to Foxit Software directory. -- No
    chmod 777 the PDF and the XML files. -- No

    Thanks again.

    jc__ ,Thanks for using Foxit Software.I am sorry that currently our Foxit Reader for Linux is still a basic version which still doesn't support to export/import form data.
    So you can not import the xml form data into the opened PDF form file in Foxit Reader for Linux.
    For this situation,I have submitted the suggestion"Supports to export/import form data in PDF form file in Foxit Readr for Linux" as a new feature to our internal feature system for our product marketing's reference with suggestion ID#MACLNX-2030.
