  • Feature Auto-refreshing changes on a PDF opened file

I am using Latex very often and I would like Foxit to automatically update the PDF file instead of closing and reopening it which is quite annoying. Is there a way to do this? If not, I would like to suggest it as a new feature.

mandresybilly I am sorry that our Foxit Reader doesn't have the auto reload function that you expected,so it can not reload the changes that have made in Latex automatically.
For this situation,I have submitted the suggestion"Support the auto reload file" as a new feature request to our internal feature system with suggestion ID#PHANTOM-4397,so that it may be considered in future versions.

      Oh sheesh, I just realized I necro-ed a 2-year-old thread. See https://forums.foxitsoftware.com/for...313#post171313

      ---

If you're using Linux, `evince` is the correct tool to use. We write books using LaTeX, and `evince` auto-reloads the latest PDFs generated by our LaTeX compiler.

The right tool in MacOS is also `evince`. Even in MacOS where Mojave is still new, and `brew install evince` is not working (https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/issues/39183). Just use MacPorts instead of Homebrew to install `evince`. (For almost every other software, you should use Homebrew; MacPorts and Homebrew can co-exist.)

We found no other PDF reader that does an auto-reload upon changes to the opened PDF file.

Perhaps Foxit Reader will be the first PDF reader (besides evince) to support such auto-reload?
