I run Foxit Reader on Windows 8 Pro x64.
I attempted to update my existing version of Foxit Reader to 6.1.2.1224. During this process, the installer uninstalls the pre-existing version of Foxit Reader.
The installer was unable to proceed because it lacked permission to access a number of files, even though I performed the install in my Administrator account.
In fact, I was not able to delete or change any of these files, even though I am an Administrator, and I couldn't even change ownership of the files. Ultimately, I had to restart into Safe Mode to remove the pre-existing version of Foxit Reader.
Why does Foxit Reader install files that even an Administrator cannot remove, and will I need to restart in Safe Mode to update Foxit Reader going forward?
