  • How open documents in separate tabs?

Previously I was using Ubuntu 16.04 and Foxit Reader opened each pdf on a separate tab. After changing to Ubuntu 20.04 I noticed that the pdfs are opened separately in a new window furthermore opening got slower and pdfs sometimes freezing when being highlighted. Is there a way to set back the previous preference of opening in separate tabs instead of windows?

    Thanks for your help,
    Peter

    p0k ,Dear Peter,

We apologize for the trouble. Normally, there should be a tab which names "Documents" in the Foxit Reader for Linux's preferences window where you could uncheck the option "all Multiple Instances" to make Foxit Reader tro open
PDF files with multiple tabs in the same Foxit Reader window.
However, the "Documents" tab is not shown in preferences dialog box on your part. This situation may be caused by the incompatibility between our Foxit Reader for Linux and your Ubuntu 20.04 system.
The program currently supports the following systems´╝Ü
    Ubuntu Desktop 14.04 ~ 16.10
    Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.x (64-bit) ~ 7.x
    SUSE 12 Linux Enterprise Server
    OpenSUSE 13.2
    OpenSUSE Leap 42.x
So Ubuntu 20.04 is still not supported by Foxit Reader for Linux yet.

In addition, due to human resources limited, our developers have stopped developing further version for Foxit Reader for Linux. We will suggest our product management team to plan a brand-new version of Foxit Reader for Linux which will be based on our existing Foxit Reader for windows desktop to be a substitute version of current one.

Currently,we suggest you try out our Foxit Reader for windows if you have other device which run windows OS(windows 7,windows8 or windows 10). Please download it from our official download center below:

Any further questions or concerns, please contact us any time.

      Dear Lisa_lee,

Sad to hear that because Foxit Reader is by far the most advanced pdf reader for linux. I hope for a new version.
      Thanks for your answer.

      Regards,
      Peter
