Permenant tab groups

I often have several PDF document tabs open during a session, with the files themselves stored in different folders. Since I often have need of opening the same kind of files but I don't wish to cluster them together in the same folder (doesn't sit well with the way I organize my documents), I was wondering if there's a way to activate a collection of specific PDF files in one click (not unlike a playlist file for a media player app).
