  • Unable to install Add-Ons

    I've looked through the FAQs and searched around for answers to this. I'm surprised it isn't a topic.
    This happens on all computers I've tried it on. I've installed Foxiit reader. Now I want to add the JPEG2000/ JBIG Decoder. Using the Install Update feature, I attempt to run the installation pointing to the .fzip file. It comes back with an error "windows cannot find ..\..\.. fxdecod1.dll.exe" It's looking in the Temp directory the Add-on installation creates. No amount of searching finds that file, and this same behavior occurs with other Add-ons looking for their respective *.dll.exe file.

    Hi rdbair,

    In Foxit Reader 6.x, JPEG2000/JBIG Decoder and JavaScript Support plugins have been embedded to the installation of Foxit Reader. So there's no need to install the JPEG2000/JBIG Decoder additionally. Here's the link for add-on info: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/Secure_...der/addons.php

        I just updated to 6.1.4.0217. I uninstalled previous version, restarted PC, then installed latest version.

        After install, I started Foxit Reader and tried to install 2 plugins through "Check for Update" in the Help menu. I selected Eastern Asian Language Support and FileOpen then tried to install through update manger but it keeps saying "Download Unsuccessful. Please check your network and try again."

        Is it a bug or server not working at Foxit?

            @icepick314 @miguelgrado,

            The "Check for Update" function doesn't work for some users and we're trying to debug it. For your current workaround, I would encourage you to download the plugins from our website: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/
            Then manually open Foxit Reader->go under 'Help'->'Install Updates...' to install the plugins. Thank you.

              When I click "Install Updates" I don't get the option to browse, nothing happens. Any idea what my problem is?
              I installed the latest version of foxit reader but that didn't help. I want to install spell checker and add dictionaries.

              Thanks!

                Hi burrap,

                Please re-open Foxit Reader and see if it works. If it doesn't help, please write to [email protected]. We'll send you the corresponding files via email. Thank you.
