How to play animation in PDF file (alternative to Flash Player)

I was trying to play an animation in an interactive PDF file using Foxit PDF Reader, when I got the error: "Please install the required version of Flash Player to view the Flash content in this PDF file." Since Flash Player has been discontinued, is there an alternative to play animations in PDF files?
