Export/Import Preferences

Hi,

I'm a new Foxit Reader user and I have been tweaking my preferences and toolbars. Is there a preferences or ini file that I can backup and restore later as needed? I could not find one. Perhaps all preferences are stored in the registry?

Hi Drew,

We don't have .ini file generated in Foxit Reader any more. You may go to the registry editor to export the registry, then import it when it is needed. "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader" and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHIINE\SOFTWARE\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader"

It's not HKEY_LOCAL_MACHIINE. It is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader is usually empty, therefore there is no need to export/import this entry.


In order to backup Foxit Reader 6 or Foxit Reader 7 settings/preferences/customization/history etc. you need to export and import this registry entry:

For Foxit Reader 6:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader 6.0


For Foxit Reader 7:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader 7.0


Tested and works fine on Foxit Reader v6.2.3.815 d2014-08-20 and Foxit Reader v7.1.0.0306 d2015-03-09
