  • Foxit eSign and low resolution signatures

Since the inclusion of the eSign in the Foxit reader whenever I add a new signature by photo, the final signature has a low resolution when its embedded on the document.

This doesn't occur with the older versions of Foxit Reader that I use on the other computers that I have.

Is this a bug of some sort or I need to change some settings to fix this ?

    Hi,

Could you go to File -- Preferences -- PDF Sign and check the option 'Disable Foxit eSign service' , click OK and restart the software, then try again to create a signature and see if it makes difference? If not, could you send us the photo and a screenshot to show the options as the one attached?

I tried to disable esign service as you have suggested, but the problem still persists.

I attach the following file to check the problem for yourself. The lower resolution of the newer version becomes clearer when you try to zoom to the the signature

      Signature test foxit old.pdf
      Signature test foxit new.pdf

To better understanding it, could you mind answering below questions? Thank you.
        1. May I know how you created the signature? Did you switch to ink Sign mode to create the signature by drawing it manually?
        2. What version did you use to create the clearer one?
        3. We fail to reproduce it on our side, would you mind using licecap to generate an animated gif that shows how to reproduce the problem for our referencing.
        Here's the download link:

(Unzip it, double-click on licecap file, you can then specify the recording area then hit "Record", it requires naming the file first then start recording.)

As far as the signature is concerned, it is a png file I've created with Microsoft paint

The old version of foxit, with which I've created the clearer signature version is 11.1.0.52543

Also please find attached below the gifs which I reproduce the procedure. One with the old version of foxit and one with the newer one

Hello All,I am writing to inform you that the issue "Low-resolution signature with signing with Foxit editor/reader 11.2.1" will be fixed in our next major release version of Foxit PDF Editor and Foxit PDF Reader. The version 12 is scheduled to be released in June of this year if everything goes as planned. So please help to upgrade your Foxit application to V12 for getting around the issue after version 12 is available.

I am currently using version 12.0.0.12394 and the low resolution signature issue has not been fixed...along with the ability to choose to drag and drop multiple signature files with ease. Previously I have been able to use JPG signatures and import them but now the quality is so low that the signature cannot be used.

I have this problem too. Whenever I try to upload my original signature, it becomes pixalized.

Could you please confirm the version number of Foxit you are currently using and also provide us your signature file for testing?
