  • Bug Document not positioned correctly after clicking on a link/bookmark

Starting with version 12 (last tested 12.0.1.12430), documents are not positioned correctly after clicking on a bookmark or a link in document.

I can reproduce the issue with all pdfs, but for reference this one can be used: https://riscv.org/wp-content/uploads...ug-release.pdf

    Expected behavior:
After I click on a link and/or bookmark (for example, Preface), I expect Preface chapter to be positioned at the top of the reader.

    Actual behavior:
After I click on a link and/or bookmark, I have to scroll up or down to up to 1 page to find the start of the chapter in question.

I cannot reproduce such behavior in Adobe DC reader and older versions of Foxit.

Let me know if I can supply any more info/log files.

AuRISC I've test the PDF file with Foxit and Adobe, then got the same and correct result as expected. No matter bookmarks or links, they can position to correct page. Can you please double-check and provide much details information from your end? Thanks.

(If there is any privacy information, can you please submit a ticket to us? Thanks.)

It seems the file link you sent is not the same one as you recorded in the video, with the file you sent, it works fine on my side, would you mind having a double check and resending us the file sample? Thank you.

As I said in the first post, I can reproduce the issue in all PDFs. This was just a sample. I just verified this by re-downloading the PDF from the link and I can see the same issue.
Can I help you pinpointing the problem more, for example with log files, if you keep such an accurate log?

AuRISC,I have carefully tested in both of Foxit PDF Reader and Foxit PDF Editor V12.0.1,both of the table of contents links and bookmarks could position to the correct destinations without any problem. Would you please help to delete the Foxit PDF Reader registry key to see if it will help by doing the following:
Please make sure you've closed the Foxit PDF Reader ,go to "Start"->"Run"-> input regedit -> find "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Reader 12.0" ,right click on the "Foxit PDF Reader 12.0“ folder and choose "delete” to delete the whole folder of Foxit PDF Reader 12.0.

If the above steps were of no avail to this issue, please help to provide us with the following information:
            1:Your OS information (E.g.windows 10x64bit).
2:Please help to do a favor to specifically record an additional video about how you could replicate the issue when clicking the bookmarks and TOC in this particular document.

            Look forward to your reply.

              Hi Lisa_lee,

deleting registry entries did indeed help to solve the issue.

              Thank you for your assistance.
