Hi, I like to open new pdf files in tabs browsing mode by default. But sometimes I would like to show two documents side by side to compare them. So it would be very convenient to be able to drag one opened tag out of the current window and create another window to show it, just like the firefox and chrome browsers could do. Would you please implement this feature ? And by the way, the multiple document interface mode in the current version(5.1.4.0104) seems to be nonsense. I tried it follow the instructions in the manual but nothing happens except that the application window get unmaximized.

Thanks for your feedback, we have forwarded it as suggestion to our PM team for future references, hope it will be considered in future update.
Regarding multiple instances issue, you should go to tools->preferences->Documents->check "Allow Multiple Instances"->OK, then you can open files with multiple instances by double clicking the pdf files you want to read.Last edited by richell_huang; 04-08-2012, 09:38 AM. -
Found this question via web search. I'm using Version: 9.0.1.1049 on Windows 7 64-bit, and just tried to do this same thing. Most often, I prefer to open documents in tabs so that I don't have a large number of PDF windows. Like the original poster, every once in a great while, I'd like to move one of the open documents to a new window so I can see2 documents side-by-side. I see this request has now been outstanding for 6 years, but apparently has not become a priority.
Please reconsider this useful feature for a near-term release. Thank you.Comment
