  • Foxit Reader 4.1 - Cannot delete PDF files - says it's open somewhere

    Hi.

I have started having this bizarre problem with my Foxit 4.1 Reader, which is my preferred version of the Foxit Reader (nota fan of the ribbons-interface).

When i want to save my PDF-slides, which i comment during lectures using Foxit 4.1, i get this message.

If its not viewable, it says: "The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or opened by another user, please save the document with a different name or in a different folder".

So i have to save it is a another file, which gets annoying to do.

Also, I cannot delete PDF files, because it says, that it is in use somewhere.

I honestly have no clue what the problem is. No matter if I shut down all programs, I still get the message. I actually think the error started happening after I installed an update for my Windows 8.

    Hi Alexander Karlsson,

Please make a screenshot of the installation folder of your Foxit Reader. (by default it is: C:\Program Files\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader) Did you choose to install Shell Extensions during the installation?
