Foxit doesn't open file automatically from an external program. How to fix this?

Can someone help us out? We have a DIS-application (= DISKIS from Cegeka) with en internal PDF-viewer. It has the ability to open a PDF with the default external PDF-viewer, which is Foxit Reader. It will open Foxit Reader allright, but doesn't open the supplied file. When i do exactly the same, but with Adobe Reader as default PDF-viewer it will work just fine. But of course we want to work with Foxit, not Adobe Reader. Opening PDF-files automatically from IE, Firefox also works fine. I think i've set all the settings allright to do the job, but still a no-go. Our software supplier from DISKIS also doesn't have a clue.
Anyone any idea?
