Foxit not saving session, read position, or default reader settings

I currently have no other PDF reader installed on my computer. Yet every time I open Foxit, it tells me that Foxit is not my default reader and would I like to make it my reader? Yes, of course I would. None of the docs from my previous session have been restored. If I reopen the docs, they are at the beginning again and my last read page has not been saved.

So then, frustrated, I open my 3 or 4 docs and read a bit. Eventually, for one reason or another, Foxit gets closes. When I reopen it, I get the same thing. Not my default reader, session not saved, last read page not saved. These are the same settings I've always used. They worked before.

Hi pumkin54,

To save session and read position, Foxit Reader will need to write this info to the registry. Please check if you logged in as an administrator, because only administrator can have the permission to write into registry. Thank you.

BTW, which version of Foxit Reader you're having?
