  • After 2 years, you STILL can't turn off the navigation panel?

Since I have yet to need the navigation panel, it only serves as annoying clutter. I simply want to open my document and not have to turn off the navigation panel every single time. If you open in Read Mode as I've seen suggested, it hides the tab panel. This is an unacceptable solution, since the "fix" is worse than the original problem. I see threads as far back as 2 years requesting a fix for this, and there were assurances then that it would be corrected.

I just don't get it. Why is there not simply a solution to turn the navigation panel on or off permanently? I see that Adobe Reader has this same problem, but also doesn't do tabbed viewing anymore. It seems crazy to me that UI is getting worse on PDF readers, instead of getting better.
