Documetns saved in Foxit Reader won't open in Adobe

I have searched but couldn't find anything on this matter. We have Foxit Reader 7.0 on all of our PCs and documents saved as PDF are saved as Foxit reader docs. My users send these docs to other people outside of our organization and we are getting complaints that the receivers are not able to open the documents in Adobe. I tried to open one of the documents in Adobe and I experience the same issue. Here is the error message.
"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem"
Is there a fix for this? Our organization lives on PDF documents

How did the documents been created? Did you do anything to the PDF documents? Which version of Adobe did you try to open the document with? Is it possible to provide one copy for testing purpose?

I am seeing this same issue. I have a PDF document to which I would like to add some comments (to add an English translation to a Dutch song), using the Comment -> Typewriter feature. I have previously done this successfully with other documents (maybe with previous software versions).

After I add the comments and save the document, it can no longer be opened successfully in Adobe, I get the message "An error exists on this page ...", and the comment displays but none of the original document. I am using Adobe v. 2015.016.20045, and Foxit Reader v.8.0.0.624.

(I tried to upload the "before" and "after" documents as attachments, but can't as they are ~100kb and the upload limit is 20kb, but could email them.)
