palota, Regarding the issue you mentioned in this thread,we have got updates from or QA team. For the accessing of "C:\Windows\Fonts" folder when you try to open PDF file in Foxit Reader, this situation is normal.Because most of the texts in the PDF file that you sent to us are texts with non-embedded fonts,So our Foxit Reader need to access the system font folder ("C:\Windows\Fonts") to find the same or similar fonts for rendering those texts in the PDF file.
For the document"Tcp diagram.pdf" you sent,it would just take us about 3 seconds for opening it in our internal version 10.1 of Foxit Reader. Please help to write to [email protected] (Attn.Lisa) to apply our internal version 10.1 of Foxit Reader to see
if the PDF document opening speed will be improved by using version 10.1 on your part too?
If it will take longer than several seconds to open it,please help to provide with us the following information for further investigation:
1: Please enable to debug mode in Foxit Reader and send us the required log file:
A:Go to the "File" tab in Foxit Reader> "Preferences" .
B:In the Preferences Window select "General".
C:Under Application Startup ,please check option Launch in Debug Mode, click on OK button to save the setting.
You will notice a yellow banner will appear on Foxit Reader letting you know you will be using the software in Debug Mode. Please try to open PDF file to replicate the open slowly issue again as usual and navigate to the following folder to send us the
    log files for us:
    C:Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Local\Foxit Reader/glog
2:Open your Foxit Reader's main installation folder, somewhere like:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader"
Create a blank .txt file there manaully and rename it into "EnableLogging" (Note:the full filename is EnableLogging rather than EnableLogging.txt, you need to remove the.txt extension from the file name).
Please help to open PDF file to replicate the open slowly issue again as usual and close the opened PDF file. Then please navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\Log
please find the "Startup.Log" this file for us.

    Look forward to your reply.

1: It does not happen to all PDF files, but it happens to most of PDF files which I have. I attached one of them.
2: You can use the Process Monitor (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...nloads/procmon) to view all file system operations.

palota ,I apologize for the trouble. This issue"Takes longer than 40 seconds to first open PDF file when fonts are not yet cached in memory" you mentioned has been submitted to our internal bug tracking system with report ID#QCPHANTOM-12645.
However,I still need your help to send us the following additional information which will be more helpful for our QA team to further investigate on this issue:
1: Did this issue happen to all PDF files or just some specific PDF files? Please send us one PDF file in question. The file you send will be kept confidential and only be used for internal testing.
2:May I know that how you could detect that Foxit Reader tried to read all files from font folder?
If it is inconvenience to upload the files here, you may email it to [email protected] (Attn:Lisa). And indicate this thread link. Thank you.

    Look forward to your reply.

I have the same problem in version 9.3. It takes longer than 40 seconds to open a document. Foxit Reader reads all files from folder C:\Windows\Fonts. I have Windows 7 64bit, 4 GHz Intel i7 and fast SSD. Why do I have to wait 40 seconds to view 1 MB PDF ? It happens only when opening the first document when fonts are not yet cached in memory.

All was fine with me after I installed Foxit Reader 5.3.0, no waiting at "loading fonts". But when I installed Adobe Indesign (latest) this problem started happening and it's still coming up whenever I open any pdf in foxit.

    Hello.

Because of this problem (some pdf's take far more than 10sec to open) i've decided to register here. I've been using Foxit for some years now and never saw any reason to change. Hope you will fix it soon because this is a no go.

    Best regards.
