Thanks for backfeed. A few thoughts for your IT team.
I help moderate another reasonably active forum. We effectively deal with spammers by using ALL of the following :
0. New members must register with valid email address. Some email domains are automatically banned.
1. New members must have their first few posts approved by a moderator before becoming visible by public.
2. When moderators delete unsuitable posts, they also ban the username, AND (optionally) the users IP address (or IP range).
3. Over time, the banned lists grow and become very effective.
4. It works.
HTH

Hi boh1974,
I've forwarded your comments as feedback to Reader PM team for processing. If you don't need Foxit Cloud Reading, please go to "Control Panel"->"Program and Features" to uninstall it.
@bluegroper,
Sorry for this. I've forwarded the info to our IT team and hope we could come up with a better spam filter mechanism. Meanwhile, we'll also try to delete the spam posts in time.Leave a comment:

What is the point of this Foxit forum that is overloaded with spammers ??Leave a comment:

So instead of closing the popup and never seeing it again, you're going to spend time looking for another reader, install it, close its popups, and deal with its little quirks instead?Leave a comment:

What is the point of Foxit reader now days?
Quite some time ago, after getting frustrated with Adobe automatic downloader and it's constant hijacking of settings and configuration I went searching for a better PDF reader.
I found foxit reader. It wasn't perfect, but it did what it was supposed to do well - It allowed me to read pdf documents quickly, without waiting 5 minutes for it to load "features" and without fuss.
After a drive failure, I have had to reinstall my computer, and yes, I went and downloaded my good old faithful Foxit reader.
But now the experience is very different. It has lots of "features" I don't want, lots of "helpers" and automatic processes that I don't care about. It's not just that I can leave them to rot in the background, they pop up over the top of the document I am looking at. For example, in the middle of reading a datasheet, up pops an ANIMATION asking me to save PDF files in the Cloud. To enter my email address, and to share.
I don't care. I don't want this. I want a vanilla reader. I don't want distractions and pointless features. I want to use a PDF reader to read a PDF document. I don't want to store it in the cloud, let alone have pop ups asking me to do so whilst I am working.
Foxit was a great reader because that was all it tried to do. It was a lightweight reader. Now it is turd. It's a real shame, because I really did like it.
I really have to say I am very disappointed and I will continue searching for a lightweight reader.1 PhotoTags: None
