  • Feature Any way to get frequently used docs pinned to a menu?

I would like to see if there is any way to get Foxit to give me a menu of frequently used PDF files, that I have pinned to the menu. Is this possible?

The opened PDF files are listed under File->Recent Files, is that what you need?

No. I'm not looking for the recent files list, but a method to get a group of files that I commonly use, to be at the top of that list--or anywhere else on some menu.

            Hello,

sorry to bring this up again, but was this implemented in foxit reader ?

If so, how to do it ?

            Thank you

              Hydrops

Yes. We could open Foxit Reader->go to File->Open->Recent Documents->then you could click on "Pin" button next to the document name to pin it to the list. Please let us know.

Thank you, it helped but it's not exactly what I pretend, is there a way to pin tabs of pdf files ?

What do you mean pin tabs of pdf files? Is there any program works in this way? We appreciate if you can describe it in detail and send us one screenshot for further understanding? Thank you.

It appears that if these pinned items are to a network drive, when the drive is removed, the pins disappear

@SR Foxit will retain and remember the store location of pinned document, then user able to click it and open PDF quickly. Therefore, when the location changed or network drive moved, the stored location become invalid then pins disappeared. That is current mechanism. Thanks.

amanda_liang, I would like to request that the pins stay until I decide to remove them.
I have a work laptop that I sometimes take home from the office, and then when I VPN into the office server, or when I come back into the office LAN, then the pins are gone, and that is very annoying.

@SR As workflow, when location was changed or drive has been removed, the PIN file still shown under Recent list in Foxit. Once user click the PIN document in recent list, Foxit will popup a message and inform "xxxx. file not found. Check if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.", then PIN disappeared.
May I know did you get the message before PIN gone? if not, that maybe a problem and I have to report it to QA team for further checking. Can you please provide some screenshot picture, version number of Foxit, OS info of PC for reference? Thanks.

I'm on PhantomPDF 9.7.5 (how do I know if my license will let me upgrade to the latest Editor 12?), Windows 10 Pro.
I can't really recall getting that error.
I guess my problem is more like I open so many files in a day, that if I need to open my [pinned] item, but it is gone, it will be so far down the list of recent documents, or not there at all because I've opened too many documents since then.
You should add a Search Bar for Recent Items, and make the list longer than 50.

@SR Can you please submit a ticket to me and provide detailed order information for checking? thanks.
For pinned document, it will be listed at the top and cannot be squeezed out when many documents opened. Attached picture for reference.
For search bar for recent items, it has been submitted to our team for checking, tracking ID#PHANTOM-13582, any update will inform you, thanks.
