Reader 7.0.6.1126 process goes to the background and stays

Hi,

A couple of days ago we updated our Remote Desktop Services farm to 7.0.6.1126. We ran into the problem with UAC prompts, downloaded and ran the msi, cleared that.

Now we are noticing that on occasion when you close the application the process goes from the foreground to the background... and then stays there. On normal exit it would go to the background and then terminate. Any fix for that?

Running on Windows Server 2012 R2 (64 bit).

1. Are you using the MSI package to install it on your server?
2. Does it happen every time when you close Foxit Reader? Please make a screenshot of the process.

BUG REPORT and WORKAROUND.

Am having a very similar issue in Windows 7. FoxIT reader 7.0.6.1126 freshly downloaded today (3/1/2015), won't end the process in Task Manager after closing the PDF document. Attempts to open subsequent documents fail (reader won't start) because of the lingering process.

Workaround that solved the problem: Kill the FoxIT Cloud process, then uninstall the FoxIT Cloud program from Control Panel --> All Control Panel Items --> Programs and Features. This program was also running a process in task manager that wouldn't exit.

Now, the reader works fine.

@ EarthJuice, yes, it is caused by Foxit Cloud and we have reported it to Dev team for future fix.

I have the same problem with Reader 7.2.0.722 I have uninstalled Foxit Cloud from the control panel and restarted the PC. The PC is running Win7 Pro, fully updated. Foxit is using 25% of CPU, even though the application is closed. I can tell when this happens, as the laptop fan runs continuously trying to cool down. I can't end the process, access is denied.
