Create from Scanner Settings - No Letter or Legal Format?

Using the latest PDF Reader 7.0.6.1126.
In File -> Preferences -> Create PDF, I can select the Letter format



But in File -> Create -> From Scanner, there is no Letter or Legal U.S. formats. Why only overseas paper formats?

I checked this question with QA team. It seemed that the Paper size setting depends on the scanner type. Could you please further check? Thank you.

cherry, thanks for the response. I'm in the United States and have an HP Photosmart C6180 scanner bought at Office Depot. I'm not sure why Letter or Legal selection is not available.

Is the Letter or Legal selection avaialbe when you try to scan from the scanner user interface directly?
