  • Foxit Reader won't start after installing the latest update (7.1.0.0306) in Win XP

    After installing the last update I can not get the Reader to start. I have had Foxit Reader running for years with no problems until now. I am using XP SP3

    Hi dehavwr,

    This issue could be related to Foxit Cloud Reading plug-in. You may go under "Control Panel"->"Program and Features" to uninstall Foxit Cloud Reading and see if it helps.

      I uninstalled Foxit Cloud but that didn't solve the problem. One possible clue, when I installed Reader I set it up to be the default reader but the system still shows Adobe Reader as the default. It seems like the operating system does not recognize Foxit's existence. Maybe the program or some of its DLLs are not being registered?

        @dehavwr, it seems Foxit reader is not written into registry, would you mind uninstalling it and restart your pc, then right click on the installer package to run as admin for installation to see if it helps?Thank you.
