Feature Ability to isolate PDF reading from all Internet polling

So with Safe Mode and Java Script turned off am I to assume no feature inside a PDF can call home? I want to totally disable anything within the PDF from being able to poll the Internet in any way or form as much as if I opened the PDF inside a VM with networking disabled.

With the mentioned safe mode on and Java Script off, please open Reader->go to 'Tools'->'Preferences'->'General'->uncheck 'Show Start Page' and go to 'Tools'->'Preferences'->'Updater' to select 'Do not download or install updates automaticaly'. Thank you.
